Ternary's technology had outgrown its research-led website. We rebuilt the site around a clear, commercial narrative, positioning Ternary as a B2B energy company with a real product, not a lab experiment. Confident structure, plain language and a sharper visual system give investors and commercial partners the clarity they need to understand what Ternary does and why it matters.

Turning innovation into understanding

Ternary had developed breakthrough energy technology, but its website still reflected its origins as a research-focused organisation. The messaging was highly technical, the structure lacked a clear narrative, and it was difficult for commercial audiences to quickly understand the product or its value. The challenge was to reposition Ternary as a credible B2B energy company by simplifying complex technology into a story that investors and industrial partners could confidently engage with.

What I learned

One of my biggest takeaways from this project was learning how to bridge the gap between technical expertise and user understanding. Rather than designing around the technology itself, I focused on the needs of investors and commercial partners, helping them quickly grasp what Ternary does, why it matters and where it fits in the market. It strengthened my ability to facilitate stakeholder conversations, simplify complex concepts and use content, hierarchy and visual design together to create a clearer, more persuasive digital experience.
