Spark
Spark Arcade was a promotional campaign that reimagined the iconic Snake game as a branded digital experience. Players could compete for high scores and win Spark gift cards, creating a fun, interactive way to engage with the brand.
Designing a playful brand experience
Spark wanted a lightweight game that would encourage engagement while reinforcing its playful brand personality. Inspired by the nostalgic Nokia Snake game, I led the design from concept through to launch, exploring multiple game directions before developing the final experience. My role included concept design, user flows, low-fidelity wireframes, UI design, illustration, and creating the custom Spark character used throughout the game.
Turning ideas into a playable product
Designing a game required thinking beyond traditional UI design. Every interaction had to feel intuitive, responsive and enjoyable across a wide range of devices. I worked closely with the developer throughout implementation, conducting extensive testing and communicating detailed QA feedback to ensure gameplay, animations and interactions behaved consistently. Translating design intent into clear development requirements became an essential part of the project.
Collaboration made the difference
This project was a rewarding opportunity to explore game design while leading the creative direction from concept to completion. It strengthened my collaboration with developers, particularly around communicating implementation details and QA feedback clearly. Seeing the finished game come to life and watching people genuinely enjoy playing it made it an enjoyable project to work on.
